Founder Story
Mark-Odean is a Jamaican entrepreneur on a mission to help visionaries cultivate well-being to do impactful work. From a young age, he built a dynamic career in healthcare finance, people development and consulting. He started his first business right out of high school, selling snacks as a project for his Principles of Accounts class. Coupled with some experience working in his uncle’s grocery store, he was inspired to build a business to earn on his terms. Furthermore, he could not get a job nor pay for college, so diving into the world of entrepreneurship seemed like the practical path.
Mark’s initial experience in business was a failure! Boy, did he fail and miserably – so many times and at so many different things. But his failures weren’t the end. He learned to start again and again. The failures, though disappointing and costly, served as valuable life and business lessons. Fast forward to today, he has started multiple businesses, including a graphics design service, computer sales and repairs, tutoring and research assistance, vitamin sales and two failed attempts at network marketing.
After three failed businesses, five start-ups, fifteen years of corporate work and eighteen years of formal education, Mark has packaged his learning experiences, a host of strategic alliances, and disruptive solutions to help Caribbean Visionaries move from concept to concrete. As Chief Visionary Officer of Visio Group International, he is helping empower creatives, entrepreneurs, founders and executives – people with great aspirations, big dreams, and innovations – to succeed and do their best work.
